-- Prince William will spend his 34th birthday privately today with Princess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte in the U.K. after traveling home from France
The second-in-line to the British throne attended Monday afternoon's England vs. Slovakia soccer match in Saint-Étienne, France. William attended the game, which ended in a 0-0 tie, in his role as president of The Football Association.
The Duke of Cambridge has had a busy year continuing his work as an air ambulance pilot and taking an increasingly high profile role filling in for Queen Elizabeth II as she and Prince Philip start to dial back their royal duties.
William and Kate, also 34, toured India and Bhutan in April on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. Shortly after returning to London, the royal couple joined Prince Harry hosting President and Michelle Obama at their Kensington Palace home. It was at that dinner that 2-year-old Prince George stole the show, appearing in his pajamas and robe.
The future king and queen of England are also taking on more diplomatic responsibilities. They accompanied Queen Elizabeth last October at the state dinner hosting the president of China in London.
On the home front, Prince William's youngest child, 1-year-old Princess Charlotte, made her first appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her family this month at Queen Elizabeth's official 90th birthday celebration, Trooping the Colour.
William and Kate are also busy searching for schools for Prince George, who will celebrate his third birthday next month. William has made clear that while he takes his royal responsibilities seriously, fatherhood comes first.
The hands-on dad, who shares parenting duties with Kate, is actively encouraging other parents to take childhood mental health seriously. Over the next year, William, Kate and Harry will make mental health their primary charitable initiative.
