Prince William, Kate Register Princess Charlotte's Birth

Princess Charlotte was born May 2, 2015, in London.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have formally registered the birth of Princess Charlotte,” Kensington Palace said in a statement today. “The Duke of Cambridge signed the birth register at Kensington Palace this afternoon witnessed by a registrar from Westminster Register Office.”

Princess Charlotte was born Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, in the same Lindo Wing where Kate, 33, gave birth to Prince George in July 2013.

The newborn weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, officials said. Charlotte is fourth in line to the British throne after her grandfather, Prince Charles, father, Prince William, and brother, Prince George.

The world got a first glimpse of Charlotte just 10 hours after her birth when she left the hospital with her mom and dad. William and Kate took Princess Charlotte to their home in Kensington Palace but are expected to move soon to Anmer Hall, their 10-bedroom home on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.
