'Real Housewives' Star Joe Giudice Publicly Apologizes to Wife Teresa for Jail Sentence
"If I could take it all back, I would," he said.
-- Joe Giudice told his wife Teresa Giudice in a TV interview how sorry he was for dragging her into his legal woes, which resulted in her getting a 15-month jail sentence to start on Jan. 5.
"I just want to apologize that I got you into this mess," Joe Giudice said in part 2 of his sit-down interview with Andy Cohen Thursday night on Bravo, according to People magazine. "If I could take it all back, I would."
He added, "I'm sorry you have to go through all this."
Joe Giudice, 42, added that he tried his best to convince the judge not give his wife jail time for his admitted fraud.
Giudice also admitted to a drinking problem during the interview that aired Thursday night.
"I think I used to drink only on the weekends. Now I drink every day," he said. "But, just wine. I don't drink anything else, really. ... I could easily do two, three bottles, four bottles, easily," a night.
"You know, with another person," he said. "Sometimes two by myself. Well, one bottle's like sucking a bottle of milk. It's like nothing. ... It does help me sleep. It's either that or I have to take a pill, and I don't want to take a pill."
Teresa Giudice, 42, responded and said she doesn't resent Joe in any way.
"I don't think he meant to hurt me," she said. "I think it's a learning lesson for both of us. ... I know he didn't mean to hurt me in any way. ... Since [the sentencing], he's been feeling bad and keeps coming up to me and hugging me."
