3 Reasons Why 'The Little Mermaid' Live-Action Casting Is Perfect

An all-star cast is re-enacting the film in L.A.

If you’re worried these casting choices are just a celeb-filled stunt to fill seats, you can "clam" down.

We’ve gathered some sea-riously definitive proof that this cast will make the perfect splash in the June 4 performance.

1. Sara Bareilles has long been a fan of Alan Menken’s "Little Mermaid" score. She once told a late-night host that she simply starts singing “Part of Your World” anytime something goes wrong on stage during one of her concerts. She uses the not-so-secret distraction tactic to keep an audience engaged during any technical difficulties.

“I’m gonna tell you what,” Bareilles said. “People love that song. They love 'The Little Mermaid.' They love Ariel and they love her wishes for her life and they want to go on that ride with her.”

Here she is belting out “Part of Your World” during a set malfunction of her Broadway musical "Waitress" just last week:

2. And if you’re at all worried about whether or not "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"’s Titus Burgess has the pipes to carry the hit song “Under the Sea,” just sit back, pour yourself a drink and check out the below video. Little known fact: Burgess starred as Sebastian in the Broadway production of "The Little Mermaid" prior to his roles on "30 Rock" and "Kimmy Schmidt."

3. John Stamos may seem like a strange choice to play the chef who is bent on cooking Sebastian, but let’s not forget his unforgettable performance of “Forever” on "Full House." The dude has pipes, and we think Chef Louis’ kitchen is about to get a whole lot hotter when Uncle Jesse sings “Les Poissons.”

Fins of the musical – excuse me – fans of the musical can snapper up tickets to the performance when they go on sale April 9.
