Sam Smith Cancels His Australian Tour

— -- Sam Smith had a difficult announcement to make this morning.
After suffering a hemorrhage on his vocal chords, the singer was forced to cancel his upcoming Australian tour.
"The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge long-term issue," he wrote on Instagram. "I am so sorry to all who have bought tickets, I truly am."
Smith, 22, is in Sydney now, he wrote, and was scheduled to play shows tonight, Thursday and Friday and Monday. After that, he is expected to perform in Tokyo on May 7.
"I have been vocally exhausted for awhile now," he added. "[But] this kills me."
