The singer, who had vocal cord surgery last month, had been forced to rest his voice after the procedure.
"As you can see, I can speak again for the first time in three weeks," he told his fans in a video message posted to Instagram and Twitter. "And it's been horrible. And sitting in silence and knowing that I should be doing shows has killed me. But finally I have some good news, and that's that I'll be starting all my shows up from the third of July. And it's all as planned and I'm gonna try my absolute best to sing my heart out for you every night. Please bear with me, as always, and I love you all!"
Smith, 23, announced last month that his doctor had advised him to undergo "suspension microlaryngoscopy surgery" to treat a hemorrhage on his vocal cords. He was expected to be fully recovered in several weeks, though he admitted that he was anxious about the procedure. Afterward, he tweeted that he was "high on pain killers and listening to Whitney Houston."
It's been an exciting 24 hours for Smith, who also received his Grammys Tuesday, and seemingly adopted a cat.
"Now my most treasured possession," he wrote next to a photo of the feline.
