-- Two special guests dropped in at a screening of “The Interview” early Thursday in Los Angeles.
Seth Rogen and director Evan Goldberg – the movie’s co-directors – visited the Silent Movie Theatre for the 12:30 a.m. screening, speaking to the crowd before the event.
“Thank you so f------ much for coming. We thought this might not happen at all,” Rogen told the audience.
The movie had been shelved by Sony following a hacking attack, sparking controversy over its plot concerning a fictional assassination attempt against North Korean leader Kim Jong un. Sony later decided to release the movie in select screenings and through streaming services. Rogen also stars in the movie alongside James Franco.
Goldberg and Rogen are thankful that audiences can see the movie.
“If it wasn’t for theaters like this and for people like you guys, this literally would not be f------ happening right now,” Rogen told the crowd.
