'Shark Tank' Star Robert Herjavec Throws Party for Boy He Helped Get a New Prosthetic Leg
Herjavec replaced the little boy's stolen prosthetic leg and threw him a party.
-- The honeymoon will have to wait.
Just one day after marrying his "Dancing With the Stars" partner Kym Johsnon, Robert Herjavec was in West Hollywood celebrating a very special little boy.
Herjavec connected with 4-year-old Liam Brenes after the boy had his prosthetic leg stolen from an Orange County beach. Immediately upon hearing Liam's story on the news, Herjavec wanted to help. Not only did the "Shark Tank" star fund the boy's brand new "Ghostbusters"-themed leg, but he also threw a party for Liam and his family so that he could meet the brave little boy himself -- even if it was the morning after his wedding.
"It's that important to me," Herjavec told local ABC-owned station KABC. "If we have an opportunity to help, why wouldn't we? And he's such a good kid."
And the giving didn't stop there. Herjavec also bought toys for Liam and his older brothers and is now hoping to send the family to Disneyland.
Liam's mother was among the many family members incredibly moved by Herjavec's generosity.
"This unfortunate event has turned into something amazing for my son and he is just thrilled beyond belief right now," Liam's mother, Amanda McFarland, said.
Herjavec also brought along injured Iraq veteran Noah Galloway, whom he knows from his time on "Dancing With the Stars." Galloway, who lost his arm, wanted to meet Liam as well after hearing Herjavec speak about him.
"His future is very bright, and he's going to do more impressive things than I ever could have imagined I could do," Galloway told KABC of the little boy.
"He's the most positive kid," Herjavec added. "He is 4 years old. Something like this happens to him and he's got such a great outlook on life."
