The franchise's third installment airs tonight.

— -- The Syfy phenomenon that is "Sharknado" is back.

Reid said it's a funny experience to act in the films and react to non-existent sharks that are added later on through the magic of CGI.

"[W]hen you see the movie, we're just as curious, like, is it going to be a big shark, is it going to be that kind of shark, and for us it's just as exciting and crazy and weird as ... it is for everyone else," she told ABC News.

If the response to the previous two films is any indication, "Sharknado 3" could be the talk of social media starting tonight.

Will there be more sequels in the future?

"I think this movie has got legs for many summer events to come. Playing an action hero in a science-fiction movie is a dream come true to me," Ziering said. "I'm just hoping to never get eaten!"
