Shonda Rhimes and Other Stars Shatter 'Glass Ceiling' After Presidential Election
Glamour's Women of the Year invited stars to break the glass as a symbol.
— -- Hillary Clinton may not have been able to break the "highest and hardest" glass ceiling, but that didn't stop several celebrities from taking a crack at it.
At Glamour’s Women of the Year event earlier this week in Los Angeles, celebrity guests and honorees were invited to shatter a glass ceiling in the wake of Clinton's loss to Donald Trump in last week's presidential election.
Instagram captured videos of Shonda Rhimes, Zendaya, Gabby Sidibe, Anna Wintour, Cara Delevingne and Lena Dunham taking up the challenge. The videos were posted on Glamour magazine's Instagram account with a message from each of the stars.

Shonda Rhimes broke the glass for "my daughters and for little girls everywhere."
Lena Dunham did it on behalf of her "grandmothers Dorothy Trussell Simmons and Carol Marguerite Dunham. Rest in peace ladies."
Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue, simply lifted her ubiquitous sunglasses to shatter the glass for "my daughter and every young woman in her generation."
Models Cara Delevingne and Adwoa Aboah threw heels at the glass on behalf of "all our girls."
Singer Tinashe donned boxing gloves, smashing the glass for "equal pay for women everywhere."
Gabby Sidibe threw everything she had at it for "people of color."
