Why Sienna Miller Feels 'Lucky to Have a Second Chance' In Hollywood
The actress discusses her former party-girl ways and how she's changed.
Jan. 29, 2014 -- Sienna Miller knows firsthand that there are consequences for public missteps.
Now, in a new interview with Esquire UK, the actress opened up about the effects her partying has had on her career.
"It had become difficult for me to get the work I wanted, if I'm really honest," she said. "I sabotaged things. ... I burnt a lot of bridges."
After breaking up with Jude Law, who recently learned in court that his family had been selling stories about their relationship to the media, the actress very publicly took up with actor Balthazar Getty, a married father of four.
"It was really bad," she said. "What was going on in my private life was not an easy thing to read about. People don't want to see films with people they don't approve of in them. ... So I deliberately disappeared. I was sick of myself, to be honest, or sick of that perception of me. It all felt so f****ing dirty."
Now engaged to actor Tom Sturridge and a mother (their daughter, Marlowe, was born 2012), the actress is working to get her career back on track.
"I'm very lucky to have a second chance in that town," she said.
