How Sofia Vergara Sent Reese Witherspoon to the ER While Filming Their Movie
Two stars tell what happened on the set of their upcoming film, "Hot Pursuit."
-- Sofia Vergara got so carried away filming a fight sequence with Reese Witherspoon for their new comedy, "Hot Pursuit," that she sent her co-star to the hospital.
Appearing together on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which airs today, the pair recalled what happened.
"She's tough, man," Witherspoon told DeGeneres.
"Are you going to tell them what happened?" Vergara asked, urging her co-star to spill the details.
"Well, I might have had to go to the emergency room," the "Wild" star admitted.
"Something with internal bleeding," Vergara said.
"I thought my appendix had burst," Witherspoon said, laughing.
"I push her and I push her and I kept telling her, 'I think I'm pushing you too hard,' and she was like, 'No do it real,'" Vergara said. "And I popped her ovary."
When DeGeneres asked if that was what really happened, Witherspoon clarified, "It's clearly something that happens in [Vergara's native] Colombia. ... I don't know what happened."
That wasn't the only fun the two stars had on the set.
Witherspoon revealed that they also competed to see who could bring the best baked goods to the set. And Witherspoon got to try out her high school Spanish.
"That was my favorite part of the movie, her speaking Spanish," Vergara quipped.
"She wasn't even nice about it," Witherspoon said about Vergara. "She was like, 'This is terrible. You sound terrible.'"
"Now I finally understand why I am so funny to the Americans," Vergara said.
