'Spider-Man: Homecoming': Everything You Need to Know From 1st Trailer

— -- The first trailer for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is here and there's a lot to take in, including a new villain, a new suit, new friend and ... new lady loves?

Let's break it down, shall we?

The clip, which premiered last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," opens with Spidey doing what he does best. He stops a band of thieves trying to rob a bank.

"Wait a minute, you guys aren't the real Avengers," he says in a satirical tone to the robbers wearing Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hulk masks. "I can tell, Hulk gives it away."

Next, we take it back to high school, where Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker, began his superhero journey. He's also got some new crushes.

The New Ladies?

Laura Harrier plays Liz Allen, who appears to be the cool girl in school that Peter and his science geek friends pine over. She's an homage to a character from the books.

"We should probably stop staring before it gets creepy," Parker says, looking at Liz.

"Too late," Michelle, played by singer Zendaya, replies. "You guys are losers."

But he may later get the girl, as he's seen speaking with Liz on the phone.

Now, it was previously reported that Zendaya was playing Parker's soul mate Mary Jane.

In addition to Mary Jane's absence, we don't see Gwen Stacy, his main love from high school, who was played by Emma Stone in the previous "Spider-Man" films.

Who Is Parker's Buddy?

Jacob Batalon plays Ned Leeds, a character in the Marvel world with a lot of history. In the books, he works with Peter at the Daily Bugle, competing for the affection of the same woman. He eventually became a villain, the Hobgoblin, before he was killed off in the 1980s.

This version of Leeds appears to be Parker's best friend in high school.

Stark Mentorship

Tony Stark is Parker's mentor in the books and on screen. You see him guiding Peter and even trying to keep the young guy out of serious danger.

"Don't do anything I would do and definitely don't do anything I wouldn't do," he says, confusing Parker. "Alright kid, good luck out there."

In the books and here in the movie, Stark teaches Parker the ways of being a superhero. He even builds him new suits.

Also, much like the trailer, their relationship becomes strained from time to time, partly because Stark treats him like a child.

"I know school sucks, I know you want to save the world, but you're not ready yet," Stark says.

The Vulture

Michael Keaton flies into the movie as the villainous Vulture. He looks more high tech than in the books and wears an advanced suit.

"Don't mess with me," Vulture warns. "Cause I will kill you and everybody you love."

We then see Spidey holding together a massive ship with just brute strength and his web shooters.

Extras!

At the end of the clip, we see Spidey and Iron Man fighting together!

It's fast, but also toward the end, Donald Glover is with someone else, testing out a powerful gun. Now, he's been rumored to possibly be Miles Morales, who eventually becomes Spider-Man in the modern era. This could also be bogus, but maybe this is his origin story for the future.

We also get glimpses of Logan Marshall-Green and Bokeem Woodbine, who may be playing other villains.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" hits theaters on July 7.
