Stars of 'Monty Python' Reunite for Their First Day of Rehearsal

The British comedy troupe is creating new material and reviving old favorites.

— -- Late last year, Terry Jones announced that the five surviving members of the Monty Python comedy troupe were planning a reunion.

Now, there's photo-proof that he was serious. Jones, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin got together in London to plan for their new show, "Monty Python Live," set to debut at the O2 Arena in London in July.

As a grand finale, their last show, on July 20, will be broadcast on TV.

Monty Python to Reunite! What the Cast Has Been Up To

"We are very excited that not only do we get the chance to screw up on stage, we get a chance to screw up live on TV too," Idle told the BBC. "What could be finer at the end of a long life in comedy, than a chance to reunite with old pals and say goodbye to all our fans in one final mad musical show."

The actors stressed that this will be the last time they work together, with Palin adding there are "absolutely no plans to do any more shows after that."
