Wedding Confirmed After Denials
Rumors of the wedding have been swirling for months as Pitt, 36, and Aniston, 31, denied an engagement. But with wedding preparations so visible, their publicist confirmed Thursday that a wedding was scheduled for this weekend but would not give a time.
The wedding of the movie star and Friends actress is the first for both.
Pitt first caught the eye of ladies across America when he played the hitchhiker picked up by Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in the 1991 film, Thelma and Louise. He went on to appear in several other films, including Legends of the Fall, 12 Monkeys, Seven, and the recent Fight Club.
The actor was last engaged to Gwyneth Paltrow, in a much photographed romance, but the two never married. He also previously dated actresses Robyn Givens and Juliette Lewis.
Even rocker Melissa Ethredige wanted a shot at the actor, who once provided a memorable Brad Pitt testimonial: “One night a few of us, shall we say, lesbians, were in the hot tub watching the guys play basketball in the pool. We were staring at Brad and we all agreed he could change a woman’s mind.”
Aniston is the one who managed to change Pitt’s mind about his bachelor days in what is, for now, the most publicized wedding of the year.
Friends debuted in 1994, and soon made Aniston a household name. She is the final actress on the series to marry, Courtney Cox had the last high profile wedding when she married actor David Arquette.
