Film Notes: Pesci Again a Goodfella

April 18, 2001 -- Joe Pesci, who won an Oscar for his work in Goodfellas, is in talks to once again sink into the dark world of gangland.

Pesci is in talks to star in a film about Mafia turncoat Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, who helped land mob boss John Gotti in jail, Variety reports.

Gravano, one of Gotti's most trusted enforcers, admitted to killing 19 people for New York's Gambino crime family. But he cut a plea deal with prosecutors, testified against Gotti in 1992, and only got five years in prison.

Gravano abandoned the federal witness-protection program amid reports that he was dealing the drug ecstasy in partnership with a group of wealthy suburban kids.

Stuntmen Honor Schwarzenegger

It's time for stuntmen and stuntwomen to take a bow.

The first World Stunt Awards will honor the rough and tumble heroes of action in 11 major categories including best fight, best driver and best special stunt.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will get an honorary "Taurus" award from the World Stunt Academy.

Schwarzenegger says he has "the utmost respect for the stunt community and the professionals [he's] worked with over the years who made even the most incredible action scenes believable."

ABC will televise the event on June 16.

Stone Stalker Goes Home

The Italian man who showed up at Sharon Stone's home wanting to marry her has gone home.

The actress had a temporary restraining order slapped on Agostino P'omato, barring him from being within 100 yards of the actress, her husband or their son.

But Stone has dropped her request for a permanent restraining after P'omato's family came to take him back to Italy.

P'omato, 32, allegedly told an employee at Stone's home on March 19 that he "had come all the way from Italy to marry her," before police took him to a mental hospital.
