Drescher Pens Cancer Survival Book

April 9, 2001 -- Warner Books is paying Fran Drescher $1 million to pen her tale of beating cancer.

The nasal-voiced star of the sitcom The Nanny is currently on the cover of pal Rosie O'Donnell's new magazine, Rosie, talking about her triumph over uterine cancer.

Drescher, whose film career includes bits in Saturday Night Fever and This Is Spinal Tap, as well as a starring role in The Beautician and the Beast, is already an author. Her book Enter Whining, about her rise to fame, was a New York Times best seller.

Drescher starred on The Nanny for six years until the show ended its run in 1999.
