Thiessen Finds New Zip Code on Fall TV
March 28, 2001 -- Been staying up late contemplating what happened to Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tiffani Thiessen (yep, she dropped the "Amber" hyphenate)? How about former ER youngster Kellie Martin or rapper Tone-Loc? Well, say goodbye to insomnia — the former buzz-binners are among a slew of vets planning TV pilots.
Thiessen, Martin, and Loc — like Adam Arkin, John Stamos, and Fred Willard — will appear in fall efforts, Variety reports.
Thiessen, whose Something About Tiffani pilot was recently rejected by ABC, will star in a different NBC comedy pilot from former Seinfeld scribe Steve Koren. She'll play a grad student/research assistant who helps a male pal with his thesis.
Arkin (Chicago Hope) has joined the Fox drama pilot The Third Degree as Konigsberg, an ex-cop-turned-professor at the project's criminology academy.
Willard, who was hilarious as a clueless dog show commentator in Best of Show, and Julia Sweeney (Saturday Night Live) have signed on to Maybe I'm Adopted, a comedy pilot for the WB.
Martin, who met a vicious end on ER last year, has joined Jeffrey Tambor in ABC's unfortunately named Man of the Kitchen project.
Also at ABC, Loc — best known for the rap hits "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" — will play a government agent opposite former Full House star John Stamos in Thieves.
