Shatner Returns to Final Frontier: Marriage
February 14, 2001 -- Star Trek's ladies' man, Capt. Kirk, would be proud: The actor who portrayed him is making his fourth trip down the aisle.
William Shatner, 69, will wed horse trainer Elizabeth Martin, 42, in a tiny Indiana town Wednesday, USA Today reports. The couple apparently paid $62 for a marriage license at the Boone County Courthouse in Lebanon, Ind., on Monday.
Shatner was wearing a daring leather ensemble when he arrived at the courthouse, while his bride chose fur, a clerk told the New York Daily News.
The actor lost his third wife, Nerine Kidd, when she drowned in their swimming pool in August 1999. The 40-year-old Kidd, who had apparently struggled with an alcohol problem, was legally drunk and had Valium in her system at the time. Her death was ruled accidental.
Shatner's first two marriages ended in divorce.
