TLC's 'T-Boz' Has Baby Girl
October 24, 2000 -- Just two months after walking down the aisle together, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins of TLC and rapper Mack 10 (born D'Mon Rolison) have become parents. On Friday at 10 p.m., Watkins gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Chase, in a Los Angeles hospital.
The couple met last year during the shooting of a video for "Unpretty," from TLC's Fanmail. "I didn't think she was who she is at all," confessed Rolison to The Atlanta Constitution in August. "I thought they were all stuck up." But after spending time with Watkins, he changed his tune. The couple was engaged on New Year's Eve.
The arrival of little Chase calls the future of TLC into question further. Watkins has said she intends to take two years off from performing to concentrate on being a wife and mother.
Member Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas, who is currently working on a solo album, has also said she intends to cut back her daily involvement in the group once her 3-year-old son begins kindergarten.
But Watkins' fans won't have to wait until TLC nails down its plans to hear more from the singer. In addition to performing the duet "Tight to Def" on her husband's new album, Paper Route, her debut solo single, "My Getaway," is featured on the soundtrack to Rugrats in Paris, in stores Nov. 7.
