Michael Jackson's Tigers Adopted by Melanie Griffith's Mom
June 21, 2006 -- Michael Jackson's tigers have found a new home.
After Jacko left his Neverland Ranch and moved to Bahrain last year, it seemed unclear what would happen to his collection of exotic pets.
Now, the New York Daily News is reporting that Michael's pet tigers -- Thriller and Sabu -- have been adopted by actress Tippi Hedren, who runs a huge animal sanctuary in California.
Hedren, who starred in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," is Melanie Griffith's mother. She is engaged to Dr. Martin Dinnes, Jackson's longtime veterinarian.
Dinnes tells reporters that he has been visiting Neverland once a week to make sure the remaining animals -- which include four giraffes and two orangutans -- are well cared for.
The singer no longer owns his two pet elephants -- Ali and Baba. Ali was donated to a Florida zoo and Baba was sold to a new owner, Dinnes says.
Jackson also gave away Neverland's horses to a children's riding program. "We're being really, really fussy where they go," Dinnes told the newspaper. "We want the best possible environments. Michael is adamant about that."
