Restraining Order Claims Lutfi Drugged, Verbally Abused Spears

Feb. 5, 2008 — -- Britney Spears' family wants Sam Lutfi, her friend and sometimes manager, out of the troubled pop star's life.

In details of a restraining order released by a Los Angeles court today, Spears' mother, Lynne, alleges that Lutfi "essentially moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances" since meeting her in October 2007.

Lynne also claims that Lutfi drugged Britney, cut her home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers.

"He yells at her," Lynne is quoted in the restraining order. "He claims to control everything."

A lengthy declaration attached to the order describes the Jan. 28 fight Lutfi and Spears got into at her Studio City home. (CLICK HERE to read the entire declaration.) Lynne paints a picture of chaos — an argumentative Lutfi and a panicked Spears in the forefront, Spears' boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, dogs, and paparazzi friends in the background.

"During Britney's and Sam's fight that evening, Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve her kids," Lynne says.

The declaration also sheds light on Spears' mental state and possible drug use.

"Britney then became very agitated and could not stop moving," Lynne says. "She cleaned the house. She changed her clothes many times. She also changed her three dogs' clothes many times. Britney spoke to me in a tone and with the level of understanding of a very young girl. Britney then picked up a bottle of pills and read part of the label and asked us, 'What does insomnia mean?' Sam told her that the pills will help her stay awake."

Lynne claimed in the declaration that Lutfi told her that he "grinds up Britney's pills," including the prescription drugs Risperdol and Seroquel, both used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and "puts them in her food."

"He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could give her drugs to heal her brain," Lynne says. "He told me that if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself. Then he said to me, 'If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave.'"

Spears asked about her sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, during the bizarre evening, according to the declaration.

"Britney then said, 'What do I have to do to see them?' Sam responded, 'Take the pills I tell you to take,'" Lynne recounts. After arguing with Lutfi about seeing a psychiatrist, Spears then said, "I'll do anything to get them back."

Lynne also claims that Lutfi bragged to her that "he is the one who receives Britney's checks" and "at some point during the evening, Sam said that Britney decided that he should be her manager."

According to the declaration, during the evening, Lutfi encouraged Spears and her family to "sit down on a sofa to do 'tequila shots.'" When that offer was turned down, he suggested they "all do toasts with wine." That plan also didn't pan out. Shortly after, Spears went with her mom and a friend to Rite Aid, where her credit card was declined when she tried to buy lipstick.

Lutfi has been associated with Spears since October 2007, when he went with her to a California DMV. Since then, he's been seen by her side and spoken to the press on her behalf on multiple occasions. The newly filed restraining order states Lutfi must not attempt to contact Spears and must stay at least 250 yards away from the pop star, her home, and the hospital in which she's currently staying.

Spears is currently in the psychiatric ward of UCLA's Medical Center, where she was admitted Jan. 30. In the declaration, Lynne claims that on the night of Spears' committal, she told her doctor that she had taken Aderol, presumably Adderall, an amphetamine used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Rumors of the pop star being mentally ill have swirled since her Jan. 3 breakdown, when she refused to give up custody of her kids to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Currently, Spears does not have rights to visit her sons.

Monday, a court commissioner appointed a physician to evaluate whether Spears is competent to make decisions, and put her father in charge of finances until at least Feb. 14.
