Susan Sarandon's Brother Terry Tomalin Dies After Heart Attack
Terry Tomalin, an editor the "Tampa Bay Times," was 55.
-- Susan Sarandon's brother Terry Tomalin died Thursday, the actress confirmed today.
In a Facebook post, Sarandon thanked fans for their condolences.
"Thank you to everyone who reached out with love at the passing of my brother Terry Tomalinm," she wrote. "I will pass on your prayers to his wife and family. This will give you a small idea of who he was."Sarandon, 69, then linked to a Tampa Bay Times article that gave more details of Tomalin's death (he was an editor at the news organization).
Tomalin passed away Thursday while taking a life guarding test with his 14-year-old son Kai at the North Shore Aquatic Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, according to the paper.
Tomalin, who was well-known throughout the state for his love of the outdoors, also leaves behind his wife, St. Petersburg Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin, and a 12-year-old daughter, Nia.
"We are devastated," his wife said. "He loved us. He loved his family so much and we loved him."
Tomalin and Sarandon were two of nine children. The large Italian family was raised in New Jersey.
