Taylor Lautner: I Was Drawn to Netflix Series ‘Cuckoo’ Because 'It Made No Sense'

The “Twilight” star is ready to branch out into comedy with the U.K. series.

— -- Taylor Lautner was a hero and heartthrob as Jacob Black, the hunky werewolf in the “Twilight” movie franchise, but now the actor is cutting his teeth on comedy.

In an interview with “GMA”s’s Jesse Palmer, Taylor explained what drew him to the British comedy. “In my head it kind of made no sense and that’s why it made perfect sense,” he said, laughing.

Palmer asked whether Lautner had noticed any nuances between comedies produced in Britain and the United States.

“Well it took me a second to get used to their sort of humor,” he said of British comedy. “It's a little more sarcastic, a little more dry.”

And when he was asked whether he worried about being pigeonholed, following his “Twilight” role, Lautner said, “That's kind of why I want to choose things that are different.”

And an added bonus for Lautner? The role will allow him to use his martial arts background.
