Taylor Swift Turns 26 and Announces Exclusive Streaming Deal With Apple
The singer marked her birthday by announcing a new deal with the tech giant.
— -- Taylor Swift turned 26 Sunday, and she marked the occasion by announcing an exclusive deal with Apple to stream a concert film from her recent “1989” world tour.
Apple and the "Bad Blood" singer revealed that subscribers of the company's new streaming service, Apple Music, will have access to a film that was taped a couple of weeks ago at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia.
The film, directed by Jonas Akerlund -- famous for his work with Madonna, Lady Gaga and U2 -- includes backstage footage, as well as scenes with musical guests from the tour.
Swift wrote a blog post in June criticizing the company over its plan not to pay music royalties during free trials of Apple Music. Within hours of her post, Apple reversed its decision, and later Apple Music became the only streaming outlet to offer “1989.”
Swift announced the news via Twitter Sunday, writing, "Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. I have a little surprise for you. #1989WorldTourLIVE @applemusic."
The post included a trailer from the film, which will be available next Sunday.
Taylor also marked her birthday on Instagram, with a cute throwback photo. The pic, which pokes fun at the surprised look she's famous for having on her face when she wins an award, was captioned, "Today I begin my 26th year of freaking out over stuff."
The post has already racked up 2 million likes.
Taylor's squad -- Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and Jaime King -- also took to Instagram to send birthday wishes.
