Teen Choice Awards Recap: Jessica Alba Leads Call to End Gun Violence

— -- This year's edition of the Teen Choice Awards turned somber on Sunday night, with the show pausing to address the gun violence that has plagued the country.

Jessica Alba appeared on stage at the Forum in Inglewood, California, with a group of teenagers related to victims of recent shootings in Orlando, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Newtown, Connecticut, and other locations.

"Now more than ever we need to stop, feel and ask 'What's going on?'" she said before an emotional performance by Ne-Yo of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."

Afterward, Alba and Ne-Yo both encouraged audience members and viewers to take photos of the teens on stage and post them on social media with the hashtag "StopTheViolence."

Earlier in the night, Justin Timberlake delivered a mostly serious speech while accepting the Decade Award in recognition of his achievements as an artist and entertainer.

He encouraged teens to be generous and respectful, quoting Muhammad Ali to emphasize his message.

"As a relatively new dad and a former teen, I am here to say you will make mistakes along the way," he said. "You will fall down. I have many times -- even Ali did."

He also advised fans to be nice to their parents, joking, "I hope my son watches this one day."

Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel, welcomed a son, Silas, last year.

Even Hillary Clinton won the award for Choice President, beating out Donald Trump. Obviously, she wasn't there to accept.

Victoria Justice and WWE star John Cena hosted the two-hour Fox telecast, which featured performances by Flo Rida, Charlie Puth, Jason Derulo and Serayah of "Empire."
