'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' Actress Marilyn Burns Dies at 65
She was found "unresponsive" in her Houston, Texas home.
-- "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" star Marilyn Burns died early Tuesday morning in her Houston, Texas, home, her manager Chris Roe confirms to ABC News. She was 65 years old.
"It is with sad news that I can officially confirm that actress Marilyn Burns passed away," Roe told ABC News in a statement. "She was found unresponsive by a family member in her Houston area home. Her family thanks everyone for all their love and support, and asks for privacy at this time. Further details will be released later."
"Texas Chain Saw Massacre" in 1974 was one of Burns' first films as she played teen Sally Hardesty in the gory, bloody movie. Burns was also featured in a TV miniseries "Helter Skelter" in 1976, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation" in 1994 and "Butcher Boys" in 2012.
Burns was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, but raised in Texas. Burns earned a degree in drama from the University of Texas in 1971.
