5 Things We Learned From 'The Hunger Games' Stars on 'GMA'
Jennifer, Liam and Josh dish on filming "Mockingjay Part 1."
-- Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have traveled the world to promote the latest “Hunger Games” installment, “Mockingjay Part 1,” but when they appeared today on “Good Morning America,” the trio spilled some secrets.
Read below to see the five things we learned about Lawrence, Hutcherson and Hemsworth and
to watch the trio unveil a sneak peek clip and answer fans’ questions.
They (Really) Do Not Like to Be Apart
The trio has spent months on end together in the past two-plus years filming the various “Hunger Games” movies in remote locations. When asked whether they have “separation anxiety” when they are done filming, the answer was a resounding yes.
“Every time,” Hemsworth, 24, said.
“Post-partum depression,” Hutcherson, 22, said.
“We ride in the car to and from work together,” Lawrence, 24, said. “We don’t even really get separated much with like hair and makeup. It’s a little sick.”
The stars even admitted they had a hard time while filming “Mockingjay Part 1” because, as Hemsworth’s character’s role grew, Hutcherson was on the set less often.
“Liam and I had problems with not having Josh around as much,” Lawrence said. “I’d get so excited when he’d come into town but then I started getting anxiety like three days before he would leave.”
“The funny thing is we see each other all the time and we still hang out,” she added. “Josh and I live down the street from each other. We got really sad on the last day but then we were like, ‘Oh, right. We can still hang out all the time.’”
They Wonder Why ‘Mockingjay Part 1’ Did Not Have This Tag Line
The latest “Hunger Games” installment is making headlines because, despite the title, there are no Hunger Games.
“No games this time,” Hutcherson said. “How’s that not the tag line for this movie, ‘No games this time.’”
Jennifer Lawrence (Really) Hates to Sing
Lawrence is an Academy Award-winning actress who can clearly play a wide range of roles, but don’t ask her to sing.
“I hate singing,” she said. “I have a terrible voice and it’s my biggest fear to, like, sing in front of people, so that was the worst.
“I sound like Amy Winehouse with bronchitis who’s tone deaf,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence’s fear of singing even convinced her co-stars she really did have a bad voice, only to be dissuaded when they actually heard her sing.
“It was a tense morning on set. She was quite stressed about it,” Hemsworth said. “I naturally assumed that she must have a bad voice because she was so stressed about it. No, she doesn’t.”
The Biggest Cast Prankster Is…
There was no delay in answering this question. Both Lawrence and Hemsworth quickly pointed to Hutcherson.
“Josh, just before we started rolling, pretended he lost his tooth and I actually believed it for a second,” Lawrence said. “It was a Tic Tac.”
Jennifer Lawrence Would Choose Pizza Over Pita, Not 'Peeta'
Lawrence has made her love of food well-known in interviews and when a “GMA” viewer got to ask the star a question, food was the main topic.
“If you had to choose for the rest of your life, pizza or 'Peta,'’ the fan asked, using a play-on word to bring up Hutcherson's "Hunger Games" character, "Peeta."
“It’s not even a competition. Pizza,” Lawrence replied.
“Thanks for that. You just destroyed this great thing we’ve had going for years,” Hutcherson joked back.
“No, I’m kidding. 'Peeta.’ 'Peeta.' If by 'Peeta' you mean Josh, his character,” Lawrence said. “I can get around it because they still have pizza bagels and pizza bites. And pizza sauce on Pop-Tarts.”
“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1” opens in theaters Friday, Nov. 21.
