5 Things to Know About Miss Golden Globe Corinne Foxx

Yes, she's Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx's daughter.

The 21-year-old model-actress will serve as Miss Golden Globe during this year's ceremony, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday.

"I've known for about three weeks. Maybe like a month and I was so excited," Foxx told People Tuesday. "I had all of this energy and I'm not lying, for an hour straight, just jumped around my house and was bouncing off the walls, and was Googling all of this stuff about Miss Golden Globes so I was really excited."

As for her Oscar-winning dad's reaction, she said, "My dad, he's a little bit emotional. He won't admit it, but he had tears in his eyes and he was so happy for me to kind of have my own thing now."

Here are five things you need to know about Foxx before the Jan. 10, 2016, ceremony:

She's No Stranger to Awards Shows

Foxx first accompanied her dad to the Oscars in 2005, when he won the Academy Award for best actor for his starring role in "Ray." Since then, she has been spotted beside him on the red carpet for numerous events, including the Grammys and the MTV Movie Awards.

She's Smart, Too

When she's not rubbing elbows with other famous people, Foxx enjoys being a student at the University of Southern California, and often tweets about her college life to her 33,000 followers.

She Made Her Debut

She Changed Her Name

For years, Foxx was known by her father's birth surname, Bishop. The Oscar winner, 47, was born Eric Marlon Bishop, but when he started in the entertainment business, he changed his name to Jamie Foxx as a tribute to comedian Redd Foxx. Somewhere in the last year, Corinne Foxx adopted the same surname.

She's Never Gone Public With Her Mother

Corinne is big sister to the "Django Unchained" star's other daughter, 5-year-old Annalise.
