Tonys 2015: Recap and Winners List

— -- "Fun Home" was right at home at the Tony Awards on Sunday night.

The show won five awards at the annual celebration of Broadway's best in New York City, including best musical. It also earned Tonys for best book, best musical score, best lead actor in a musical for Michael Cerveris, and best direction for Sam Gold.

"Fun Home," based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, focuses on a lesbian girl who grows up in a funeral home with a closeted father.

"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," which was named best play, also took five awards. The show revolves around a 15-year-old with Asperger's syndrome who's under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog.

In the acting categories, Helen Mirren won her first Tony -- best lead actress in a play -- for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience. She previously received an Oscar for playing the monarch in the film "The Queen."

Movie stars Bradley Cooper and Bill Nighy both lost out in the best lead actor in a play category to Alex Sharp of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time."

Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming hosted the 69th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall.
