Tracy Morgan Lands First Movie Role Since His 2014 Car Crash

The 46-year-old actor is in negotiations for a new comedy.

According to The Wrap, Morgan is in negotiations to join actors Ice Cube and Charlie Day in the comedy “Fist Fight.”

The role would be Morgan’s first since a car crash in June 2014 seriously injured Morgan and killed James McNair, a fellow comedian and close friend of Morgan.

“Fist Fight” is a comedy written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. Richie Keen will direct. The movie centers around two high school teachers (Cube and Day) who wind up in a fist fight.

“Breaking Bad” alum Dean Norris will play the school’s principal and Jillian Bell of “22 Jump Street” fame will play a guidance counselor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan would play the school’s coach.

Morgan received a standing ovation as he spoke about his recovery.
