'True Blood' Series Finale Recap: The Shocking Death You Never Saw Coming

Or did you?

— -- SPOILER ALERT!

After seven heart-gripping, throat-ripping seasons, "True Blood" came to an end on Sunday night.

This is going on while Bill asks Sookie while he's dying of Hep V, according to EW.

The finale also included a wedding between Hoyt (Jim Parrick) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), the woman/vampire he's been in love with since the show's start. Bill tells Jessica that he never got to walk his own daughter down the aisle, so he gets to do that before "he dies."

Sookie decides to do as Bill wishes and has his grave dug up and the two star-crossed lovers meet at his grave site. The two kiss, Sookie cries and Bill says "Thank you" for taking his life and pain away.

"Bill, I'll never forget you," Sookie says.

But when Sookie can't bring herself to use her powers, she instead breaks a wooden shovel in half and steaks Bill while he's lying in his coffin. There is also a final "I love you" from both. Sookie is covered in her former lover's blood and sobs uncontrollably.

In the end, we jump to years in the future -- Eric has synthesized a version of Sarah Newlin's blood to cure infected vampires, who are charged $100,000 a minute to drink, Jason has married and has three kids and Sookie is pregnant and with a new man. Sorry, you don't see his face. You just know she's happy.
