Video: Paul McCartney Sits in With Local Band

Famed musician joined a band performing at his stepson's graduation party.

— -- Josh Walther and the band Phase5 got the "thrill of a lifetime" when Sir Paul McCartney joined the band on stage to perform at his stepson's graduation party.

It all started when the band, which plays R&B, rock and funk at everything from charity functions to weddings, booked a gig at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, last Saturday.

The person doing the booking seemed to know a lot about amps and instruments. Turns out, it was Nancy Shevell, McCartney's wife.

Not only was the former Beatle there, he led folks on the dance floor. "We were really excited that he was the first person on the dance floor and remained there for our entire two-hour show," the band wrote on Facebook. But that wasn't all. "Nothing would prepare us for the moment when he asked if he could sing a few with us!" the band wrote, calling it the "thrill of a lifetime." McCartney joined the group in a performance of "I Saw Her Standing There." "More than anything I feel really lucky that it happened," Walther told ABC affiliate WFTS.
