"The Walking Dead" has fans banding together to change the plot.
-- “The Walking Dead,” one of television’s most popular shows, has fans banding together to change the plot.

Fans are petitioning to bring back beloved character Beth Greene, who was killed off in the midseason finale. As Beth ran up to say goodbye and kill her enemy with a hidden knife, Dawn shot her in the head.
Played by Emily Kinney, Beth has been a symbol of hope on the show, which may be why her demise sparked fan freak-outs posted on YouTube. Even Kinney, herself, got emotional over the change.
“I have a whole life and we all moved there and worked there. ... I'm sorry,” she said, starting to cry on AMC’s YouTube show, “Talking Dead.”
Now, a Change.org petition called “Bring Beth Back!” is picking up steam, with more than 37,000 supporters so far.
Fans are signing with messages such as, “There is a respect and a trust between writer and audience and you violated it.”
“It’s a show willing to part with actors very quickly,” The Hollywood Reporter TV news editor Lesley Goldberg said on “Good Morning America.” “It’s not afraid to kill off characters on a regular basis.”
But while Beth currently joins the ranks of high-profile, killed-off characters like “All in the Family’s” Edith Bunker and “M*A*S*H's” Col. Blake, hope for the zombie apocalypse darling may not be lost yet.
"Family Guy" recently brought its lovable cartoon canine, Brian, back from the dead after fans complained on social media -- and this is a show that, at its heart, is about coming back from the dead.
