Woman in Wheelchair Wins Treadmill on 'Price Is Right'
See how she reacted to the prize.
-- A wheelchair-bound woman got to live her dream of being a contestant on "The Price Is Right" earlier this week, but then things got awkward when her prize package included a new treadmill.
Danielle Perez, a comedian based in Los Angeles, thinks all the attention to the prize is "hilarious."
"It's the best. I thought the day that I won it and experiencing that was the best day ever, but today, sharing it with everyone, it's been incredible," she told People magazine.
She added that when she was on the show, she thought she had no chance of having her name called to compete.
But, "I was the first name called and put my hands up and just rolled down the little ramp, like 'OK, this is happening, this is incredible,'" she told People.
When she found out she won a treadmill, she said, "I just thought, 'Oh, this is perfect, you cannot write this, you cannot make this up.' It's not even that I'm in a wheelchair, it's that I literally don't have feet."
In the clip, Perez admitted she thought she'd never get up on the show's stage and that she was close a couple of other times.
When the treadmill and new sauna are announced, she laughs, then says, "Those are really nice."
As you can see from one of her tweets, she is still making light of the situation.
