One Woman's Quest for Happiness Through Favorite Celeb Beauty Routines
-- From Jennifer Aniston’s jaw dropping body to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop-approved gourmet meals, Hollywood's biggest superstars may be nothing short of superwomen, seemingly having and doing it all.
One writer set out on a mission to capture some of that success.
In her new book “Jennifer, Gwyneth & Me,” 32-year-old Rachel Bertsche spent eight months researching and practicing what the stars preach, like Julia Robert’s serenity and Jessica Alba’s healthy pregnancy tips.
“I started to feel like maybe if I could be more like them I could have it all together too,” Bertsche said on “Good Morning America.” “And if I have it all together will I be happier?”
Only problem? Her wallet wasn’t exactly the same size as some of these super stars’.
“Celebrity trainers, celebrity chefs they kind of have made brands. You can go onto YouTube and find free workout videos from Jennifer Aniston’s trainer. You can buy cookbooks from Gwyneth Paltrow, you can buy cookbooks from any other celebrity chef,” Bertsche said.
And after those eight months of working out with Jennifer Aniston's trainer -– in her own living room –dressing like Sarah Jessica Parker – tutu and all – and cooking like Gwyneth, Bertsche said she started to notice a change.
“Just putting on a cute outfit or going for a run and feeling fabulous will give you that extra spring in your step,” she admitted.
Now, with 11-month-old daughter Maggie on her hip, Bertsche isn't making as many Gwyneth green juices, but admits there are perks to drinking the celebrity lifestyle Kool-Aid.
“If they inspire you to be the best version of yourself that you can be, then that is a really great thing,” she said. “I think we take our role models where we can get them and there is no shame if that is Beyonce.”
