quicklist:title: Roseanne Barrtext: Roseanne Barr's 1990 performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a Reds-Padres game at San Diego's then Jack Murphy Stadium set a new low. Of course, the comedienne never professed to be a singer -- and from the sound of it, she doesn't even try. After screeching her way through, she topped of her performance by grabbing her crotch and spitting.media: 19570366
quicklist:title: Carl Lewistext: Olympic champion Carl Lewis is considered one of the world's greatest track and field athletes. Singer, he is not. Nor will he ever be able to outrun his disastrous performance of the national anthem at the 1993 NBA finals game. Though he promised the booing crowd to make up for his voice cracking mid "rockets' red glare," his finish was less than spectacular. media: 19570443
quicklist:title: Alexis Normandtext: Chalk it up to nerves, last-minute scheduling or the fact that she's a Canadian, jazz singer Alexis Normand managed to forget the words to the national anthem only a few lines in to her performance at the Memorial Cup hockey game in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, this past May. After a quick smile, Normand bravely continued on, only to garble the words once again, before finally just singing what she knew of the song. In the end, it was the crowd of hockey fans, Canadian and American alike, who came to her aid in finishing the song.media: 19213424
quicklist:title: Harper Gruzinstext: The blog Deadspin called it "the worst national anthem rendition ever," and people on Twitter weren't any kinder about then 11-year-old Harper Gruzin's rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Major League Soccer game in Dallas. Harper, a singer/songwriter from Coppell, Texas, appeared to slow the tempo of the song, injected many vocal flourishes and had less-than-perfect pitch. Afterward, she acknowledged to ABC News that it "wasn't my best performance" but said the sound of some fans' horns threw her off-key.media: 16893590
quicklist:title: Steven Tylertext: Fans came to Steven Tyler's aid after he got jeers for his performance of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the 2012 Super Bowl. Many thought that the Aerosmith frontman screamed his way through the final bars. Others thought it was just rock and roll. But more than likely the former "American Idol" judge would have failed to earn a golden ticket with his performance. media: 15418736
