'Young and Restless' Actor Corey Sligh Allegedly Hit by Car, Beaten

"I'm just truly thankful I'm alive," he said.

— -- Model and actor Corey Sligh, 27, was recovering at a Los Angeles hospital after he said two men hit him with a car and then one proceeded to beat him on Thanksgiving.

LAPD Detective Kevin Becker said two men, who he did not name, were "driving, playing recklessly with their car" and that Sligh yelled at them to stop.

The two men hit Sligh with the car, police said, before one got out and began beating the actor.

One of the men was being charged with assault with a deadly weapon -- his car -- while the other was being charged with felony assault, Becker said. The two men remained in custody, he added.

Sligh told ABC News station KABC in Los Angeles that he and his girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, were heading to the Rite Aid to bring a Thanksgiving dinner to people they know who had to work on the holiday.

"Next thing I know, they are squealing tires behind me and I'm up on the hood of a car," Sligh said.

Sligh suffered a broken arm and other injuries before one of the men jumped out of the car to fight him, he said.

"I was able to ... try and defend myself for a minute, but that's when I realized my arm was snapped in a few places," he said. "I'm just truly thankful I'm alive."

"It was probably one of the scariest moments of my life, watching that happen," Berhorst said.

In another post, the actor wrote, "Hope to heal up in the next few weeks with Rehab and family! Thanks for all the love and I'll keep y'all posted!"
