Zoe Saldana High-Fives Young Fan Who Asked When She'd Be Captain of Starship Enterprise
"Star Trek Beyond" opens nationwide Friday.
-- A young fan put a smile on Zoe Saldana's face this morning when she asked the "Star Trek Beyond" actress when she'd be captain of the Starship Enterprise.
"That's a fantastic question," Saldana told the girl, Camilla, high-fiving her on “GMA.”
"I would love to be captain. I feel like in this movie, because we're all split, the crew is split, based on the catastrophes that the Enterprise may have to endure, that we all play captain in our own right trying to get ourselves back together and save as many lives as we can. So, I think I did get a little glimpse of playing captain in this movie."
Saldana, who stars in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avatar," says she has always had a fascination with science fiction movies.
"My sisters and I were definitely not the conventional little girls," Saldana, 38, said. "We were always into, like, the infinite possibilities of the universe may offer and that kept me always so curious about space."
