Is 'Zombeavers' the Next 'Sharknado'?
Watch the trailer: You'll never again think beavers are cute.
Feb. 13, 2014 -- Ian Ziering just signed on to film "Sharknado 2," but the movie that took over Twitter last year might have some strong competition in 2014.
A trailer for "Zombeavers" was just released by Epic Pictures Group and it's pretty amazing. Actually, it's glorious.
The same company that brought you "Big A-- Spider" last year was approached by producers who have worked on films like "The Ring," "Cabin Fever" and "We're The Millers" to collaborate on this project, said Patrick Ewald, CEO of Epic Pictures.
"Zombeavers" is self-explanatory - a group of teens look to have a hot and heavy getaway in a cabin by the lake only to have their weekend interuppted by some killer beavers that just won't die. Don't you just hate when that happens?
As for the obvious comparisons that will come to "Sharknado," Ewald said, "both movies are punny and immediately grab your attention ... but 'Zombeavers' delivers on all cylindars, it's both funny and entertaining."
The campy horror/comedy doesn't have a release date yet, but Ewald said they are in the process of securing the film's place in "the right festivals."
"I knew I wanted to be part of this project, when I was at a party with five or six people," he said. "I told them I was working on this movie 'Zombeavers," and I've never seen a more diverse group of people get such a kick out of a movie's name."
