Zooey Deschanel Reveals the Downsides of Pregnancy
The actress talked about the baby's gender and more.
— -- Zooey Deschanel is expecting her first child, but she's learning that pregnancy is requiring her to change her lifestyle a bit.
The actress told Jimmy Kimmel that there's a litany of foods that she can no longer eat.
"You can't have sushi. You can't have cheese that tastes good," she said. "I would have, like, four cups [of coffee] a day and now I can have a half cup which is a joke. It's a total joke!"
"You can't have alcohol. I miss that," she continued. "I like wine. There's a lot of weird things."
In January, a rep for Deschanel, 35, confirmed that not only was the "New Girl" star expecting a baby with producer Jacob Pechenik, but also, the couple had gotten engaged. Now, eagerly awaiting the birth, Deschanel and said they're also looking forward to finding out the baby's gender.
"We are gonna be surprised," she said. ""It's more fun!"
