Hairdos Across the Country
Oct. 31, 2005— -- Hairstylist Jonathan Antin says that you can tell where a woman is from just by her hairdo.
Long, soft feathery waves like "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria? That would be the "South Beach."
A messy, shaggy "deconstructed bob" like actress Kirsten Dunst? Well, New York City, of course.
Antin showed "Good Morning America" how to master these trendy dos today. With the right tools and styling products -- many available at www.jonathanproduct.com -- Antin said the average woman can create these looks.
Look #1. South Beach: As seen on Eva Longoria.
To create this soft, wavy style, Antin applied mousse to the hair then blew it dry using a round brush. He added smoothing serum and finished with a light hair spray. The cut should already have long layers.

Look #2. New York City: As seen on Kirsten Dunst.
The cut is short and layered in a "deconstructed bob." The idea is to create what Antin called "good, strong points" to accent the cheekbones. Antin used thickening foam and worked it to the ends of the hair. He then blew it dry with a round brush. He completed the look with texturizing paste and a flat iron.

Look #3 Hollywood: As seen on Cameron Diaz.
Antin used straightening serum on the long, dry hair. He blew it dry and ran a flat iron over the ends. Antin likes to mix up finish hold in his palms before running it though the hair to seal the look. He added shine drops at the end.

Look #4 Taos, N.M.: As seen on Julia Roberts.
Antin used curl serum and then scrunched the hair using a large-barrel curling iron to create loose waves. He sprayed each section of hair with spray before using the curling iron. To finish, Antin applied texturizing paste and shine serum by tussling the hair with his hands.
