The comedian welcomed son Gene in May 2019.
Amy Schumer is opening up about motherhood.
On Sunday, the comedian shared a heartfelt Instagram post about her experience as a mom. Included with the post was a rare photo of her 2-year-old son Gene with his face covered by a heart emoji.
"Being his mom is heaven on earth and also means a constant feeling of guilt and vulnerability I will never get used to," Schumer, 40, wrote in the caption. "Your heart feels like it’s outside your body and you’re too old to drink the feelings away like you used to. When you were in love and scared. Send help!!!"
Celebrities like Debra Messing, Rosie O'Donnell and Amanda Kloots flooded the comments section to provide some comfort and assure Schumer she wasn't alone.
"Queer Eye" star Tan France, who recently became a father, replied, "Yep, that’s exactly how it is and feels. It’s beautiful and terrifying [yellow heart emoji]."
Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who is a mom of two, responded, 'It's the best and the hardest job. Sounds like you're doing it right!"
"Ugly Betty" alum America Ferrera, another mom of two, had a one-word reaction: "Amen."
Schumer and husband Chris Fischer welcomed Gene in May 2019, a little more than a year after they married in February 2018.
