Britney Spears marries Sam Asghari: All the wedding details
The couple first met in 2016 and got engaged last September.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari tied the knot Thursday in an intimate ceremony at Spears' home.
The couple first met on the set of the pop star's "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. After about five years together, they got engaged in September 2021 when Asghari, an Iranian-born fitness instructor and actor, proposed.
"We really wanted to make this a small and beautiful moment with family and friends," Spears told Vogue of the nuptials.
For the ceremony, Spears, 40, wore a custom Versace dress while Asghari, 28, wore a Versace tux.
The pair's wedding bands were designed by jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb, according to Vogue, who also noted that Charlotte and Sofia Tilbury consulted on Spears' beauty look, with the latter doing her makeup for the wedding.
The guest list included the likes of Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Donatella Versace and more. There were approximately 60 guests in attendance.
Spears changed into three other looks after the "I dos," all of them Versace, before she danced to "Toxic" with Madonna and Gomez and sang "Stars Are Blind" with Hilton, according to Vogue. The newlyweds left the celebration around 10:15 p.m. PT in a Rolls Royce.
The wedding day wasn't without hiccups, though, as Spears' first husband, Jason Alexander, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. PT for an out-of-county warrant for embezzlement and receiving stolen property after Ventura County Sheriff's Department responded to a trespassing call at Spears' home.
Alexander, who was famously married to Spears for 55 hours in 2004, was transported to Ventura County jail and booked around 7:30 p.m. PT, with bail set at $22,500.
