Ciara talks 'balancing act' of raising 3 children while creating new music
The singer said she has new music on the way.
R&B singer Ciara is back in the studio preparing her second independent release.
The "I Got You" singer recently told ABC Audio that new music is coming "in the near, near future," though she said she is primarily focused on tending to her three children: 6-year-old Future Zahir, 3-year-old Sienna Princess, and 4-month-old baby boy Win.
"I've been able to make a little bit with my time ... not only having to breastfeed and do classes with my kids and work at home," the singer said. "Meetings after meetings, Zoom calls, all that good stuff, but there has been music in the midst of it all and I can't wait to share it with the world."
"I'm excited," said Ciara, who has learned to balance out her roles as a mother and as the wife to Seahawks football player Russell Wilson, with her successful Grammy-winning singing and dance career.
"Life is a balancing act these days with everything," she said, "But the music [creates]...a good moment to let go, to also relax and just have some good feelings flowing throughout."
2019's "Beauty Marks" was Ciara's first album under her label of the same name. Over the past few months, she's shown her dance moves in the video for her single "Rooted," featuring Esther Dean, and her vocals on "In Spite of Me," a collaboration with Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
She's also been busy promoting her and Wilson's recently launched unisex perfume, The R&C Fragrance, part of their fashion house The House of L&RC, and their newest brand, Human Nation.
Ciara will take over the Los Angeles celebration of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021 for the fourth year.
