Diana Ross sings 'Happy Birthday' to Beyonce for singer's 42nd birthday
"There would be no me without you," Beyonce told Ross during the special moment.
Diana Ross sang "Happy Birthday" to Beyoncé Monday night in a moment of legends celebrating legends.
The special moment happened on the final night of the "Break My Soul" singer's Renaissance World Tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which just so happened to be her 42nd birthday.
Ross, 79, stepped out onto the stage as a surprise guest to serenade Beyoncé, leading the crowd in a "Happy Birthday" sing-along.
In footage captured by fans, Beyoncé embraced the Motown icon as the tune came to a close, thanking Ross and proceeding to gush about the "Upside Down" singer.
"Thank you so much, you are so amazing," Beyoncé told Ross, as the two embraced and held hands.
"This is the legendary Diana Ross!" she continued. "There would be no me without you, and thank you for all of your sacrifice and your beauty and your grace. Thank you for opening doors for me."
Replying to the kind words, Ross recalled how Beyoncé once sang "Happy Birthday" for her back when she was turning 75, adding that she had wanted to return the favor.
As the two left the stage, Beyoncé asked the crowd to "give it up for the queen."
