Jamie Foxx says being with his kids at a Black Lives Matter protest was 'heartbreaking'

"Let’s change the world so they don’t have to live in it the way we have been."

The "Ray" actor took to Instagram on Monday to share photos from the weekend's protest in Los Angeles and to share a message that's likely relatable for any black parent.

"Having them watch the world come together was beautiful," Foxx, 52, wrote. "But having to explain to them why we were all there was heartbreaking."

The "Django Unchained" actor is dad to daughters Corinne, 26, and Annalise, 10.

Foxx is referencing George Floyd's death last month on May 25 at the hands of police in Minneapolis, a tragedy that has reignited the Black Lives Matter movement.

"Let's change the world so they don't have to live in it the way we have been," the Oscar winner concluded his post, adding the hashtags "#JusticeForGeorgeFloyd" and "#BlackLivesMatter."
