Nikki Bella pushes back against pregnancy rumors, talks postpartum body expectations
She addressed comments she received on a recent Instagram post she shared.
Nikki Bella, who welcomed her son Matteo in July 2020, found herself shutting down rumors that she and fiancé Artem Chigvintsev were expecting baby No. 2.
The 37-year-old former WWE star took to her Instagram stories Tuesday to confirm she is not pregnant after fans inquired.
Taking a screenshot of one of the pregnancy questions directed at her, Bella explained that she was just "super bloated" that day "from travel and hormones (milk is coming to an end.)"
She added, "I totally look it. It is what it is lol. Had abs in the day and a little belly at night. #momlife."
She elaborated about her postpartum body in a new installment of her "The Bellas" podcast.
Speaking alongside her sister, Brie Bella, the two lamented over fans' expectations for them to snap back into their pre-baby figures.
While Brie said social media is partially to blame for these unrealistic expectations, the media star confessed, "I do see how filtered the world is of social media and I'm like, I'm tired of keeping up with ... the body you're supposed to [have.]"
Chimed in Nikki, "The perfect body doesn't exist."
The new mom opened up about how the pressure to look "perfect" affected her mental health and caused her to feel "so down and depressed."
"Think of how good you look for 37, and I don't know if you're comparing yourself to 20 year olds, but compare yourself to your age," Brie said.
