Terri Irwin on Bindi and Robert following in her husband's footsteps

"All Steve wanted was for his kids to continue in his work," she said.

Terri Irwin is one proud mother.

The widow of the late Steve Irwin says that her son Robert has been following in dad's footsteps and working with crocodiles since he was 5 years old. As for daughter Bindi, she's been doing the same since she was 7 years old.

Irwin told People magazine that while Bindi has been drawn to the science part of conservation, "Robert is boots and all like [his] dad."

"I'm really proud, because I know all Steve wanted was for his kids to continue in his work," she added.

But does she have any concerns with her son handling dangerous animals like crocs?

"Once Robert outweighed me, I stopped worrying," she joked.

The second season of "Crikey! It's the Irwins" is underway and Irwin said her husband would also be so proud.

"I think he would love it," she said. "For us, it's such an honor to continue his mission and making positive change in the world."

She added that his message was to "love" all creatures the same.

Speaking of love, earlier this week, an engaged Bindi Irwin shared a picture that every fan of the family had been waiting for -- a first look at her wedding dress.

"I said yes to the dress," she wrote Sunday.

Along with the caption, Bindi shared a small look at her white lace gown and a close-up at her gorgeous ring.
