Like mother, like daughter: See Serena’s daughter playing tennis
Another Williams family tennis prodigy appears ready to take on the sport.
Serena Williams may no longer be playing professional tennis, but her legacy of tennis greatness is still going strong.
Olympia, Williams' eldest daughter with her husband Alexis Ohanian, appears to be a tennis star in her own right.
The 6-year-old was seen nailing a backhand shot in a photograph posted to her Instagram account -- which is run by her parents -- Sunday.
The photo was captioned, "Papa is my ballboy," referring to Ohanian, who commented with a raised hands emoji.
Williams, who stepped away from professional tennis last year after a history-making career, has previously said that she does not foresee herself being Olympia's tennis coach.
"I don't have the patience to teach tennis," Williams told Ellen DeGeneres during an April 2022 appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I don't really like to play with people who don't know how to play tennis well. It drives me nuts."
Williams did say she enrolled Olympia in tennis classes, adding though that she is not pushing her into the sport.
"Her ambition is playing princess games," Williams said. "The more we can play anything with princesses, that's her whole life."
Olympia is now busy in the role of big sister, which could possibly be a distraction from tennis too. Williams and Ohanian welcomed their second child, a daughter named Adira, in August.
